It is 6:31 am.
All are asleep.
The alarms are set.
But something is wrong; for in this household, there is a certain person, who, in order to pursue other scholarly interests and meet social needs, must attend Seminary at an earlier hour then most. Specifically, 6:30am.
This person, who is currently in dreamland, had burned the midnight oil, and is only able to become fully conscience by some external means; such as an alarm clock.
Yet, the needed alarm is not performing its duty, and the individual overslept!
14 minutes later, her mother entered the room. Addressing her daughter, she remarked, sleepily, "Aren't you late for Seminary?" The girl wearily raised her head, and, after slowly processing the message through the mud of her tired brain, looked up at the clock, made blurry by sleep's lingering touch. When her turtle-paced mind registered the time, her whole body jumps, as if she had made contact with a sharp, electrified object.
Immediately, she and her mother (who was also unprepared), hopped to it, and made ready for a departure, which, though early in the morning, was late in arrival.
As they approached their destination, they visually scoured the area.
It was empty.
Mother and daughter faced each other, realization dawning on their faces.
There was no Seminary today.
